Blue administration API
The Blue product seamlessly integrates with various functionality through APIs. To enable specific operations such as report generation, communication, and integration with external applications, Blue APIs play a crucial role. These APIs become active when the environment is live, offering Blue administrators access to a dashboard where they can manage listed APIs using unique API keys.
Authentication and API key usage
By default, Blue has its own web service endpoints, eliminating the need for clients to subscribe separately. Only Blue administrators hold the authority to generate API keys and access the APIs using these keys. To generate an API key, administrators navigate to Blue administration > connection > API key within the Blue product. A simple click on the "Generate API key" button initiates the process, as illustrated in the accompanying screenshot.
Possessing the API key grants users the capability to push or pull data without restrictions. Developers seeking access to the API key can easily obtain it by contacting the Blue Admin. The simplicity of this process ensures efficient data handling within the Blue environment.
In Blue 8, each application had a distinct URL with various parts, including the base URL and a resource-specific path. Blue 9 streamlines this by consolidating all endpoints from different applications under a single URL. Despite this consolidation, the functionality of Blue 8 APIs and Blue 9 administration APIs remain unchanged.
