Action Required: Cipher Hardening & Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.3 Support - Effective date: May 13, 2026
Explorance is upgrading encryption standards to protect your data with stronger security protocols. This update takes effect May 13, 2026.
Determine if this applies to your organization
Web browser access only
No action is required. Modern browsers already use supported security standards, and this change will not impact your users.
System integrations with Explorance
Review the requirements below if your organization uses:
- Data Sync Tool deployments
- Custom API integrations
- Automated scripts
- Middleware or applications that connect directly to Explorance
Systems relying on outdated encryption libraries may require updates to maintain connectivity after May 13, 2026.
What is Changing
Explorance is implementing modern cipher suites and adding TLS 1.3 support. Legacy or weak ciphers will no longer be accepted. TLS 1.2 remains supported.
Why this matters
Stronger encryption protects your data during transmission. This update aligns with current security standards and reduces vulnerability to emerging threats.
Supported Cipher Suites
TLS 1.2
- ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384
- ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384
- ECDHE-ECDSA-CHACHA20-POLY1305
- ECDHE-RSA-CHACHA20-POLY1305
- ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256
- ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256
- ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-CCM8
- ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-CCM
TLS 1.3
- AES_256_GCM_SHA384
- AES_128_GCM_SHA256
Next steps for IT and security teams
