Adding MLY to my Blue instance; What do I need to know?
Introduction
MLY in Blue Reports automates qualitative feedback analysis with sentiment, recommendation, and alert analysis, topic categorization, and demographic insights, enabling faster decision-making and reducing time spent on manual interpretation.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Qualitative Insights: Analyze open-ended feedback to uncover patterns, sentiments, recommendations, alerts, and key discussion topics.
- Rich Cross-Tabulations: Segment data demographically and combine qualitative with quantitative results for nuanced insights.
- Redaction : Identify and hide harmful comments to promote psychological safety.
- Multilingual Analysis: Use automated comment translation to broaden representation and inclusivity.
Prerequisites
The MLY x Blue integration requires:
- Blue version 9.6
- MLY version 3.2
TO GET STARTED
Contact Explorance customer support to plan your Blue upgrade to the latest version integration with MLY.
Also ensure that your Blue and MLY licenses align with the volume of comments you plan to analyze in MLY for inclusion in Blue reports. For example, if the volume of evaluation or survey feedback in Blue exceeds your MLY analyzed-comments limit, the MLY license will need to be adjusted accordingly.
Supplemental MLY value-add modules
MLY analyses can be further enhanced with additional modules that provide the following capabilities:
Redaction: This feature detects and redacts inappropriate, sensitive, or harmful language in feedback by hiding the word or phrase or deleting the comment to help ensure psychological safety for report viewers.
Multilingual analysis: This feature automatically translates non-English comments into English, ensuring all feedback is analyzed and available to be included in Blue Reports. Report viewers can view the analyzed comments in the original language as well as English in their reports.
TO GET STARTED
To add one or both of these modules to your MLY license, contact your Explorance account manager to discuss licensing and activation of the module(s) in your Blue instance.

FAQs
To learn more about how the integration works, consult the Q&As below:
Question: Do I have to analyze my feedback in MLY and then send them to Blue?
Answer: No, the integration enables your Blue administrator to set up MLY qualitative questions in the evaluation/survey in your Blue Project. Once the evaluation/survey is published and respondents provided their feedback, Blue sends the qualitative comments to MLY for analysis. These comments are then returned to Blue and can be included in Blue reports.
Question: How long does it take for the data exchange between Blue and MLY?
Answer: The time required to send the Blue feedback to MLY, analyze it and then send the results back to Blue can vary depending on the following:
- number of qualitative feedback responses collected in the Blue evaluation/survey that require analysis.
- number of other analysis requests in MLY at that time.
Question: Can I see my Blue feedback analysis in MLY?
Answer: Yes. Once analyzed, the Blue analysis appears in the MLY analysis list. Each entry shows the corresponding Blue project owner with the date and time the comments were transferred to MLY for analysis.
Question: Can I use MLY to share the results of a Blue feedback analysis with Deans/Leaders to provide them with a more interactive experience and enable deeper exploration of the analysis?
Answer: Yes, MLY and Blue can operate simultaneously. In the scenario described above, the MLY Admin can access the results of the Blue feedback analysis in MLY and easily set up sharing with collaborative privileges. This allows Deans and Leaders to view and explore various aspects of the MLY analysis, including the summary, overview, topic explorer, comment explorer and redaction workspace. Additionally, they can export the raw data for further use.
