(BNG 2023) An Evaluation of Student Performance and Perception

Aug-01-2023

Traditional cadaveric dissection has long been the gold standard for studying human anatomy, but advancements in technology have introduced newer teaching methods and learning tools. The Anatomage Table offers highly accurate anatomy and virtual dissection capabilities, but its effectiveness on anatomy learning warrants further investigation. We conducted this research study from May 2, 2023 thru June 12, 2023; our aim was to provide a more comprehensive analysis of the Anatomage Table's influence on student performance and learning experience using Questionnaires and Surveys. The study involved year-1 undergraduate medical students (n=63) from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Studies were conducted in two separate sessions to ensure optimal learning conditions and focused interactions. Pre-test and Post-test results were conducted, enabling an in-depth analysis of individual student progress. The survey questionnaire conducted offers a more robust and nuanced understanding of the potential benefits and shortcomings of the Anatomage Table as a teaching tool, providing valuable insights for educators and institutions aiming to enhance anatomy learning outcomes through innovative technologies.
