(BNG 2023) Student Demographics Data to Support Teaching Effectiveness and Student Success

As a part of Equality Diversity Inclusion (EDI) priorities, higher-ed institutions are enhancing the collection of student demographic data to enable the institutions to better understand student experiences and support student inclusion and success. How do institutions use student demographics data in understanding, reporting, and using student feedback data in an ethical and responsible way for more robust and inclusive teaching effectiveness and student success? This panel discusses challenges surrounding the ethical and responsible use of student demographics and implications to existing reporting, policies and the literacy needed in this uncharted territory.
