Configure a Pathway Task Block in BPI
The Pathway Task Block, designed for Blackboard Learn provides an area for students to access Fillout tasks for all of their courses, even the courses that have been blocked by Blue. However, the Pathway Task Block is not capable of displaying courses that have been blocked by Blackboard Learn.
The Pathway Task Block is not intended to replace the standard Task Block as it only contains Fillout tasks.
The Blackboard Learn Community Engagement License is required to install building blocks for Blackboard Learn. If you do not have the license, an LTI tool must be created instead.
General info
Block name and Block creator are required fields that cannot be modified once saved. Pathway is a drop-down list that contains only one item, the pathway for Blackboard Learn while Native is a read-only field that is always enabled.
Blocks tags
Customize the captions that the end user will see by modifying the default text for the following fields:
- Block title – Displays in bold in the title bar (at the very top) of the Blackboard Learn block
- Description – A short description, that users can show or hide, that describes the purpose of this block and any pertinent instructions.
- Return value – A statement that is shown when there are no records to display.
Columns settings
The fields available for display in the Pathway Task Block are listed in the table. The captions for each field can be customized by editing the right hand column. The fields with a check mark beside their name will be displayed in the Pathway Task Block
