Out now - Blue 8.1.1 - adds Brightspace connection and more

We are excited to announce that Blue 8.1.1 has been released. For additional details, see the Blue 8 master release notes.

Blue 8.1.1 adds new capabilities to:

• Support course, student, and enrollment data synchronization with D2L Brightspace.
• Remember which status filters teachers/employees selected in their subject listing page from their previous session.
• Give more flexibility for report creators who need to specify which "static" report viewers populate automatically.
• Improve the timelines of each participant's invitation, reminders, and deadlines for open surveys.

D2L Brightspace datasource synchronization

In Explorance’s continued commitment to interoperability and partnership for the mutual benefit of Brightspace/Blue customers, this update introduces a REST/GraphQL. datasource connection

• a standardized way to synchronize courses, instructors, students, and enrollment data between Brightspace and Blue.

Improved subject management tile view

• For the added convenience of teachers/employees who personalize their status filters in Subject Management (e.g., “show me only my courses/evaluations that are Ready and Live but not Expired, Opted Out nor Completed”), their filter selections, sort order, and keywords will be remembered the next time they access the page.

Static report viewer report flexibility

• More flexibility is given to report creators who need to keep certain “static” report viewing groups updated. Where previously it was only possible to select none or all static viewer groups to be auto-updated, report creators may now select which static viewer groups to populate for each of their report projects.

Improved timelines for open surveys

• To better support open surveys, when a user is added to an evaluation after the subject has already started, the user's start date becomes the date they were added. All subsequent relative dates (reminders, deadlines, etc.) will use the date the user was added as the subject start date.
• Note: This does not apply if dates are set by teachers/employees in the subject management UI. In this instance, all participants for that subject will share the same start and end dates set by the teacher/employee.

Accessibility

• From the home screen and task and report lists, screen readers will now announce to the user that task links will open in a new window.
• Screen readers will also announce that the logo link open in a new window on Blue home, the task list and the report list.

Multilingual Support of Paper Forms

• Project administrators now have the ability to print paper forms from task management in all supported languages to better support users in their native language. This applies to built-in Blue paper forms only.
