Product notice - Google and Yahoo implementing new email policies February 1, 2024

January 30, 2024

This bulletin is provided to inform users of Explorance Blue, that sending large numbers of emails to Google or Yahoo domains may be prevented without action on your part.

What is happening?

Starting February 1, 2024 Google and Yahoo will begin implementing significant changes regarding how emails are handled for organizations that send large numbers of emails in a day.

What does it mean?

If your current setup does not adhere to the new rules being applied by Google and Yahoo, an increasing number of emails sent by your organization to those domains will not be delivered or will be delivered to the Junk mail folder.

What do I need to do?

To ensure that Blue’s emails are delivered to the recipient’s inbox, DKIM and SPF records should be set up for Blue. DKIM and SPF records are two email security protocols that ensure the integrity of the message and validate the sender’s IP address. In addition, ensure that the sender’s domain specified in the “From” address is the same as the domain authorized by SPF records and covered by DKIM signatures for any email sent through Blue. Implementing these security protocols will require working with members of your IT department.

For information on how to set up DKIM and SPF in Blue refer to these articles:
