Publish the Blue dashboard

This section describes how to make dashboard content available to end users. It include a concept of preview site (i.e. staging) and published site. It also explains how to set dashboard user permissions.

NOTE

There are 3 phases to prepare the dashboard, each of which can have different configurations:

  1. Base configuration phase
  2. Preview phase
  3. Published dashboard

These 3 phases of the dashboard can exist simultaneously. Before making the new dashboard content available to a larger audience (i.e. published site), the admin can first select a few people to validate the content (i.e. preview site). Then eventually publish the validated contents to a larger audience.

Individual dashboard access

Before making the new dashboard content available to a larger audience, you can first select a few users to validate the content of their individual dashboards. Click the checkbox beside a user's name to allow them to preview their individual dashboard.

From the individual dashboard access page there is an option to allow or deny access to the preview dashboard entirely. Additionally, access can be granted to everyone or a select few.

Aggregate dashboard access

Access to the aggregate dashboard is determined by a users membership in one of the dynamic groups created in an earlier step. Each dynamic group can be connected or disconnected from the dashboard. To validate if the right people are able to access the dashboard, expand the Explorer list. Once expanded, you are able to search for specific users.

NOTE

Any person that can access the aggregate dashboard is referred to as an Explorer. The number of Explorers is license controlled. When your licenses have all been assigned you may get a warning message similar to this: "You are using a total of 33 unique Explorers which is more than your license of 5 Explorers. Please contact your account manager to obtain additional licenses."
