Temporary outage - Blackboard Learn building blocks

At the end of 2023, Anthology discontinued support for most building blocks in Blackboard Learn. A few exceptions were granted to certain vendors. Explorance was awarded an extension to continue using building blocks until June 30, 2024.

Please refer to the earlier notice for more information on what is being discontinued and the options available moving forward.

Unfortunately, this extension was not applied to Explorance building blocks. We have been working closely with Anthology/Blackboard support to restore access to our building blocks as fast as possible. Anthology has indicated that it may take several weeks to restore access to all building blocks.

Impact on Blue Connector

Both the homepage popup message and the course blocking features of Blue Connector rely upon an Explorance building block to function. You can expect that neither feature will work until this issue is resolved.

Any LTI tools created for the Blue Connector will not be impacted by this outage.

Impact on BPI

BPI blocks (task, reports, launcher, subject and feedback view) may or may not function. If they were set up as LTI tools then they will be unaffected by this outage.

What happens next?

We are working with Anthology to resolve this temporary outage with Blackboard Learn building blocks and they expect to have this resolved in the next several weeks.
