This article lists the topics used in the Student Experience Intelligence (SEI) analysis type and provides definitions, keywords and examples to help you navigate, filter and understand your analyses and the insights they contain. The topics are listed in alphabetical order and any specific topic can be located quickly by clicking on Control F on the page and entering the name of the topic.
The examples for each topic come directly from our annotation team and represent real comments used to train our analysis types. In addition, the keywords and definitions are included to provide you with context and a better understanding of how MLY uses each topic to provide insights. If the topic title includes the term ‘New’ or ‘Updated target path(s)’, it indicates the most recent topic updates in the SEI, EEI, and ELI analysis types.

A target path directs the model to produce meaningful insights from the comments it analyzes. By updating target paths, a machine learning model can enhance its accuracy and performance, ensuring the analyses remain relevant and aligned with evolving customer needs.

Definition - Administration responsible for overseeing college or university departments, faculty, programs of study, curricula budgets, facilities, and more. Duties of administration can include admissions, registration, alumni relations, financial aid, housing, access to services, events programming, club organization, hiring and evaluating faculty, development of programs, and much more.

Athletics (New)
Definition - Any form of physical activity or game, often organized and typically (though not always) competitive, in which an individual or team competes in order to use, maintain, or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants while representing their school. Sports differ from sports clubs which are clubs comprised of individuals who share interest in certain sports but are not necessarily recognized as a group competing on behalf of a given institution.

Definition - A specified type of transportation which includes only the bus and shuttle system of the institution as well as nearby public transportation options.

Definition - Funds provided to students to help cover the costs of their education. This aid can come in various forms, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study opportunities. The primary goal of financial aid is to make higher education more accessible by reducing the financial burden on students and their families.
