Change management and communication strategy best practices
Overview
This Change Management and Communication Strategy is intended for use with communication and change management activities specific to the measurement and evaluation process. Research shows that communication is key to facilitating the change management needed to drive stakeholder buy-in to ensure the new measurement process (MTM) becomes entrenched into the organization's culture. Additionally, early and frequent communication as described within the attached document, will ensure high response rates.
This document addresses the following key stakeholder groups:
- Learners
- Managers
- Instructors
- Delivery Team (Non-Instructors)
- Development Team, Course and Program Owners
- Leadership/Executives
For each of these stakeholder groups, the document will help clarify the following specific to measurement and evaluation:
- What they care about.
- What they are expected to do.
- How they are a decision-maker or influencer.
- Who influences the group and who manages the relationship with the group.
- How they consume information.
- How measurement and evaluation benefits them (WIIFM).
- Risks to consider.
- Approach to managing communications/change activities.
- Other recommendations (where applicable).
This document should be leveraged prior to the measurement solution being launched to inform the respective stakeholder group(s) on the solution being deployed. This process will minimize the risks of executing communication or change activities that yield less positive outcomes.
