Alias Link FAQ

There are several factors that can impact a class is not appearing in an alias link. If your class was created or modified recently, it can take up to an hour that to appear within an alias. This includes creating new classes, assigning new surveys, or updating class configurations like instructor, learning method, and location.

Confirm the correct instructor or location is assigned to the class, and not a duplicate. If a duplicate was assigned, update the class to the correct instructor or location, and those changes will be reflected within the hour.

Alias links default to classes with instructors. If a class’s learning method is Self paced web based or Self paced non web based, edit the alias’s criteria and select those learning methods.

Alias links can be created for self-paced classes. However, alias links are not recommended for self-paced classes as they have no instructors or start and end dates, so the list can become very long, increasing the chance learners will either select the wrong class or give up finding it in the list and not provide feedback.

A better method to distribute surveys for self-paced learning programs is to include the survey’s summary link within the program materials.

What does the event dropdown show?

The event dropdown displays Tests or Blended Learning Program level surveys. Any test that is currently open meeting that alias link’s criteria will display under the event dropdown. This section will only display if a test or program level survey is open.

NOTE

For example, if you select Post Event, an instructor, and instructor led from their respective fields will limit the classes and events to classes that have an open post event, taught by that instructor, and the class was created using the instructor led learning method.
