Create a report that shows which QP questions were selected
Question Personalization (QP) allows for customized questions, and/or selectable questions to be added to a questionnaire by subjects and secondary subjects. This topic describes how to create a report that will show which questions from the QP list were selected or personalized by the secondary subject for the secondary subject.
For more information on Question personalization (QP), consult the following topic: Implement personalized questions
Be aware that this procedure will not work if the question personalization questions have been set up as virtual questions.
First, create an individual report to get the list of all questions that were selected or customized during the course of the evaluation project.
- Go to Reports and select New Report
- Select the project to report on, choose Individual, Distributed and Broken Down by Secondary subject
- Select Validate, then Create
- Navigate to Info - general, to remove all response groups from report blocks so only question titles are displayed
- Give the report a title such as "[Project Title] - All Selected Questions"
- Under Included Responses, deselect the Active - Submitted group
- Make sure no Included Responses are selected
- Navigate to Info - Layout
- Make sure the Do not display the report cover page option is disabled
- Navigate to Content - Group Elements to create the report's rater group
- Select Add Group Element
- Caption - Give the group element a name, such as "Raters"
- Type - Select Breakdown by Rater Group
- Score - Select Score average (mean)
- Select the rater group and then Apply
- Navigate to Content - Blocks to select all personalized questions to report on
- Next to Select Report Block Type, select Question and then Add Report Block
- Next to all Personalized Single Selection, Personalized Single Selection Table, select Frequency
- Next to all Personalized Comments, select Comment
- Select Add To List
- For each Frequency Report Block, remove report content so only the question title remains
- Select Edit
- Under Frequency, remove the checkbox from Display Chart, Display Table and Display Statistics
- Select Apply
- For each Comment Report Block, apply the group element you created
- Select Edit
- Next to Select Rater Group Element, select the group element you created
- Select Apply
- Save Report
- Navigate to Subjects and Select All Subjects
- Save Report
There are two kinds of personalized questions:
Customizable Questions
- questions created by the task owner that replace placeholder questions added by the project administrator. The task owner can create the question, but the responses are pre-configured by the project administrator and cannot be changed.
Selectable Questions
- questions selected by the task owner from a list of questions pre-configured by the project administrator.
The only way to differentiate them in the Question Report Block list is by looking at the title. One will be a question, and the other a caption asking the subject to create a question.
View and manage the QP report
Once you have the QP report, you will want to view it and copy its content into a spreadsheet to isolate selected questions.
- Navigate to Publish and select Generate Report
- Once the report generated successfully, select Finalize
- Back under Publish, select View Report
- In the report page, Select All
- Select View (your browser may block the new window - make sure to allow pop-ups for your Blue environment)
- This will show you a list of all questions selected from the predefined list of questions during QP
- Select all the questions and copy the selected list
- Open a new spreadsheet like Excel, and paste in your copied list
- Navigate to the Data tab in Excel and use the Remove Duplicates feature to get a list of questions that were selected at least once by the participants with QP privileges during the course of the evaluation project
Instead of removing duplicates, you could instead use countif to see how many times each question was selected.
Now you have an Excel report that shows all of the selectable questions that have been selected from your project.
