Blue 8 Long-Term Support (LTS) notice

On November 14, 2023, with the release of Blue 9, Blue 8 has entered a Long-Term Support (LTS) phase. This means that Explorance will continue to provide essential updates, maintenance, and support for Blue 8 customers. This move is part of our commitment to delivering a robust and secure experience for our users. During the LTS phase, you can expect:

  • Critical security updates
  • Bug fixes for critical issues related to data
  • Ongoing technical support

While Blue 8 remains fully functional, this LTS transition signals a focus on stability rather than introducing new capabilities. New features will be introduced in Blue 9. To give you time to update to Blue 9, Blue 8 will continue to be supported into June 30, 2026.

Why is Blue 8 transitioning to LTS?

The transition is to ensure that Blue 8 remains stabile, secure, and well supported over an extended period. This allows us to focus on providing essential updates, bug fixes, and ongoing technical support rather than introducing new capabilities, while allowing customers time to plan their upgrade to the latest release. With this focus, Explorance can continue to add new features and capabilities in the latest versions of Blue.

What if I cannot upgrade now?

We understand that some customers may prefer to keep using Blue 8 for now. Therefore, we will continue to provide Blue 8 support for any critical issues or bugs that significantly affect their systems. To give you time to plan your upgrade to Blue 9, Blue 8 will continue to be supported into June 30, 2026. Please contact Explorance Customer Support for assistance.

What do I need to know about Blue 9?

Blue 9 introduced a new Home page, SSO advancements, a new Blue built-in authentication solution for more robust security, and more.

What if Blue 8 is installed on-premises?

We are completing the analysis process so that customers can continue to use Blue on-premises with release 9. For questions and additional details, please reach out to your Explorance Account Manager.
