Create a backup of Blue
Admin - Backup allows the user to save and restore system configuration settings. This feature can be used when different or new settings are being tested.
Create a backup of current configurations before making any changes so that if there is a need to revert back to the previous configuration, the previous configuration can simply be selected from the list and restored in Blue.
Save the Current Settings
To save the current configuration settings, select Save, then select Confirm.
In the list of saved configurations, a new configuration with the current date and time will appear.
Restore from Saved Settings
To restore configuration settings, select the configuration from the list and click Restore, then click Confirm to restore the settings.
- If the configuration has changed since the last backup, either by creating a new project, group, definition, etc, then the backup cannot be restored.
- The restore function will notify you if there are new datasources created since the last backup and will not overwrite the settings.
- Use the backup section once you have made any configuration changes in the system administration console.
- The user will be given a warning message to verify their database connection if it does not match the settings stored within the XML files.
- Backup is compatible with Blue 5.5 or later.
It is recommended to create a backup of the current configuration when the current Blue environment needs to be replicated on another system, e.g. migrating from production to a test environment or development environment.
