How to import members

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT IMPORT MEMBERS
  • Only CSV files can be imported.
  • Import Members only adds members to subjects, it does not remove members from subjects.
  • MemberID and GroupCaption are required column headers that must be present for every member import. If the project includes subjects, then SubjectID must also be included. ContextID is required if the project has secondary subjects.
  • The required columns can appear in any order as long as they are present.
  • Additional demographic data will be ignored during an import. Import Members is used only to assign members to subjects.
  1. Navigate to the MEMBERS - EXPORT/IMPORT tab.
  2. Under Import, select Browse to choose which CSV file to upload member data to your project.
  3. Select Import Members.
  4. Check the Replace Existing Members checkbox if you wish to remove existing members from a subject when importing members.
  5. Select Save to finalize your import.

Possible errors displayed:

  • Missing necessary columns: MemberID, GroupCaption, SubjectID, ContextID.
  • Unable to upload file. IIS has detected a 64-bit environment: ensure that you have properly installed Microsoft Access Database Engine. Ensure that there are no special characters in the CSV file name.
  • The file format is not correct. Please ensure that uploaded file is in .CSV format.
