Export analyzed data

Introduction

Analyzed data can be filtered and exported from MLY as a Comma Separated Value (.csv) file. Filtering and exporting all or parts of the analyzed data can be useful:

  • to collaborate with others who cannot access MLY.
  • to explore specific topics or present data to a team or group.
  • to integrate your data with other databases for custom dashboards or reports.
  • to communicate the specific comment data to relevant stakeholders who can take action or provide feedback.

Export filtered data from the Comment explorer

  1. Once you have filtered and sorted your results, click on Export comment analysis icon.
  2. Rename the file to easily identify the filtered results.
  3. Click Save.
  4. A notification will be displayed in the bottom right corner of this screen.

Download your file

  1. From the homepage, click on the Exported files icon.
  2. In the row displaying your exported file, hover on the right side of the row and click the Download option in the drop-down menu.
  3. Your file will be downloaded to your device.
  4. To delete your exported file, click the Delete option.

Export all analyzed results

REMINDER

To obtain all analyzed data, make sure that there are no filters enabled.

  1. From the Comment explorer screen, click Export comment analysis.
  2. Ensure that Add filters does not display any filters.
  3. Check to make sure that the All comments option have been selected.
  4. Rename the file to easily identify the results.
  5. Click Save.
  6. A notification will be displayed in the bottom right corner of this screen. See the instructions in the Download your file section above to access your data.

Exported data file specifications

Data files containing the results of individual analyses can be exported from MLY manually and re-imported into other applications such as data warehouses, lakes, or customized dashboards. The following information provides file specifications and details describing the column structure for different analysis types. The total number of rows in the exported file should be the same as the Total analyzed comments displayed in the Overview screen, and the All Comments filter in the Comment explorer screen.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE EXPORTED DATA FILE

Files exported from MLY have the following specifications:

  • Format: CSV.
  • Schema: The names and types of columns are displayed in the first row as headers and the total columns and rows depend on the analysis type used and amount of comments analyzed.
  • Encoding: UTF-8 standard encoding used for electronic communications.
  • Size: The size of the exported file will vary depending on the number of comments imported and type of analysis performed. See below for details.
  • Location: Data files are exported manually from MLY and can be saved on a local file path or as a URL.

The Exported comments file will contain the following headers:

  • Demographic fields that were included in the original data file uploaded to MLY
  • Selected comments
  • Category
  • Tag 1, Tag 2, etc.
  • Notes 1, Note 2, etc.
  • Sentiment
  • Do More
  • Do Less
  • Start
  • Stop
  • Continue
  • Change
  • Alert
  • Score
  • Alert Threshold
  • Topic 1, Sentiment, Topic 2, Sentiment, etc.
  • Recommendation, Attribute 1, Recommendation, Attribute 2, etc.

NOTE

Redacted words, phrases or comments with insights will be included in the Exported Comments file. To identify Redacted comments, use the Control F function in your excel spreadsheet to Find these comments. Please note that comments with their insights that have been deleted from the analysis will not be included in the Exported comments file.

Manage your Exported files

All analyzed data exported from MLY is managed in Exported files screen.

  1. To find a file, enter a File name or an Analysis name in the Search field to locate your exported data file and click enter or the search loop.
  2. Sort the resulting datasets by clicking on any of the columns to organize your list by:
  3. Name containing the exported data.
  4. From analysis - the name of the analyzed file where the exported data originated.
  5. Status - see below
  6. Analysis type used for your analysis
  7. Date generated (the date that the dataset was exported) displayed in ascending or descending order.
NOTE

The following Status indicators provide the availability of your exported file:

  • Ready - the file can be viewed immediately.
  • In progress - the file is being exported.
  • Pending - the file is in a queue waiting to be exported.
  • Failed - the export failed. Click on icon to retry exporting that data file.

Download your exported file by clicking on Download. Exported files can be deleted by clicking on Delete.
